We are committed to caring for you, your structure, and the environment through LEED focused solutions, which contribute to cost savings and energy efficiency.

Today, let's look at color. It's simple.

Ice rinks are white because white reflects light, rather than absorbing heat. Light colors are so effective at reflecting heat that even in warm climates an ice rink can be maintained in an open-air, indoor shopping mall.

Heat accelerates the deterioration of materials

We can use this same logic in materials for our home.

Although we are referring to roofing here, this same concept applies to siding, doors, windows, decks, landscaping, and even your face (remember to wear sunscreen).

Heat accelerates the deterioration of materials, so reducing heat exposure can help your roof last longer resulting in significant long-term cost savings. Light-colored roofing materials reflect sunlight and absorb less heat, keeping roofs 20°–50° cooler on hot days. This is an Immediate cost saving method, keeping the areas surrounding and directly below the roof much more comfortable and easier to cool with effective methods.

Using color intentionally in design can make a significant difference in achieving your energy, cost, and sustainability goals.
