Our local company ensures the homeowners are taken care of now and into the future by staying and insuring work long after a storm passes.
In the Middle Ages, pardoners traveled from town to town selling immediate safety from purgatory or eternal damnation. Some "pardoners" falsely claimed the title and exploited people in their most vulnerable situations.
This history offers a useful, yet comical, parallel to issues we still see with "storm chasing" contractors today: empty promises that lead homeowners to empty pockets and a long struggle to repair what was never properly fixed in the first place.

What is a "Storm Chaser"?
Storm Chasers:
magically appear in town after hail, wind, or tornadoes affect your neighborhood
go door-to-door offering services for immediate repair
are unfamiliar with local building codes & permit requirements
are unreachable for warranty or defect repairs
leave town as soon as the gig is up
What to do when they come:

Say no.
If you want to be facetious, tell them to "pardon themselves" and that you have a local contractor who cares.
